Title: FAILED DRAG DIGITAL PRINTS
Year: 2008 - Present
Type: Archival digital prints on metallic paper / Digital scanner
FAILED DRAG is a series of self portraits captured by placing my face directly on a flat bed scanner. Each image took at least 2 minutes to be captured, challenging the idea of immediacy in digital photography and adding an endurance component related to performance art.
The final result is a large format high resolution digital print that studies the micro-vision abilities of a digital scanner and reflects on the idea of gender, identity and age.
These prints have been exhibited in juried and invitational art shows such as the Tampa Museum's Pride and Passion 2009 event, the Art Against AIDS ® 2009 auction at the River East Art Center, in Chicago, IL and at the [5]ART Gallery in Tampa.
